Thai Grilled Bananas With Coconut Sauce

(กล้วยทับราดซอสกะทิ)

Ingredients:

10 burro bananas, ripe and firm

1 cup coconut milk

1/2 cup palm sugar

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions:

Make the sauce by combining the palm sugar, granulated sugar, coconut milk, and salt in a small saucepan over medium high heat. Once the mixture sauce comes to a boil, reduce the heat to medium low. Simmer to thicker, stirring frequently, about 20 minutes. Remove from the heat, let it cool.

In the meantime, peel bananas and cut them crosswise about 3/4 inch thick and grill them over medium low heat or until they turn brown on both sides. Place grilled banana on a wooden chopping board and place the other chopping board on top and press it down. Repeat with the remaining bananas.

Thread the pressed grilled banana onto skewers and place it on a platter. Drizzle with the coconut caramel sauce and serve warm.
